If you haven’t completed a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan application by the previous deadline, you’re in luck. On July 4, President Donald Trump extended the deadline for PPP loan applications by more than a month.
The new deadline for PPP loan applications is August 8.
PPP loan deadline extended to August 8
The previous June 30 deadline came and went, but there was still more than $130 billion available for businesses in the United States. The PPP loan was created following the COVID-19 pandemic. Its aim was to keep employers in touch with their employees for the duration of any government-ordered business closures.
PPP loans can be forgiven entirely if the businesses receiving the money spend it within a certain time frame and for limited business expenses, namely payroll.
