APCC wants TPCC to repay the loan amount

An interesting struggle is taking place between the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. With congressional units in both states in dire financial straits, the APCC is demanding repayment of a loan taken out by its Telangana counterpart. The APCC, which has no more funds, is desperately seeking reimbursement from the TPCC.

This loan issue dates from the time when the State was bifurcated. The APCC then operated for some time from Indira Bhavan in Hyderabad, while the TPCC operated from Gandhi Bhavan. The APCC later moved its base to Vijayawada. However, during this time, the APCC loaned some Rs 15 lakh to the TPCC. This was given to then-TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah by then-APCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy.

Today, the APCC is going through a deep financial crisis. He has no charges to pay. No donation is made and even membership amounts are not deposited. The party has spent every paisa on the account and is now in dire need of funds to run its show. Now, Shailajanath, the current head of the CCP, found out about this and asked the Telangana CCP to repay the amount.

The APCC has now sent a communication to Revanth Reddy asking them to send the amount. Sources say the APCC believes it can continue playing with this amount for a bit longer. The financially stronger Telangana PCC has yet to react so far.
